We are delighted to announce the launch of the Moments in Light celebration in London on 5th June with an exhibition held at the Royal Academy of Arts. At the event, a series of beautiful portraits of each of the five chosen talented women, as taken by Mary McCartney, were revealed to guests as they celebrated with a cocktail reception followed by a dinner created by Skye Gyngell – one of the project’s illuminated women.
An array of fresh meadow flowers suspended from the ceiling created an incredible centrepiece, under which De Beers displayed the 1888 Master Diamonds and Creative Solitaires – a collection launched alongside the Moments in Light celebration showcasing our diamond mastery and wondrous artistry.
De Beers Unveils "Moments In Light" A Collaboration With Mary McCartney To Celebrate Talented Women. Speaking about the campaign, Moments in Light curator and photographer, Mary McCartney said: “Selecting such an exciting array of talent for Moments in Light has been a real journey and a great project to work on with De Beers. Each woman has inspired me with their passion, enthusiasm and creative flair. It has been an honour to photograph them, to curate this unique project and in doing so, to support Women for Women International. It’s a very exciting project for me to reveal these talented women in a new light.”
The evening was also attended by Brita Fernandez Schmidt, Executive Director of Women for Women International, the charity for whom the Moments in Light project will support. Brita spoke of her gratitude of the campaign’s assistance to 150 female survivors of war who will receive year-long training to aid them in their confidence and future skills.
