2001: The De Beers Group entered into a joint retail venture with the French luxury goods company LVMH (Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton) starting the independently managed diamond jewelry company, De Beers Diamond Jewellers Ltd.
2002: The flagship store in London, on Old Bond Street is opened.
2003: The first stores in Tokyo, Japan are opened.
2005: De Beers opens its doors on New York’s 5th Avenue, as well as on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Neil Lane launches an exclusive jewelry collection that is sold only at De Beers retail stores.
2007: Stores in Las Vegas, Houston and Washington, DC are opened. A new website with e-commerce capability is launched. Stephen Webster launches the first men’s collection for De Beers. The Talisman 8 Watch collection is also launched.
2008: De Beers opens a store in April in Dallas as well as in San Francisco in June. By the end of the year 3 additional stores are expected to open – Costa Mesa & Naples in November and Bal Harbour in December.
