De Beers continues to support community resilience, providing world class healthcare to our employees and local communities around our operations, as well as high quality, future focused education through the schools we manage and support. We also create livelihood opportunities through entrepreneur development programmes for youth, women, and established business owners in southern Africa.
Planet
As part of De Beers’ corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives, we work to help protect and restore nature and the wildlife it supports through our conservation network in southern Africa. Inspired by nature from the very start, De Beers Group safeguards double the amount of land we use for our operations, dedicating it to the conservation of flora and fauna in the region. We are progressing towards our Science Based Targets to reducing our emissions, as well as by minimising our water footprint across our operations, offices, and stores.

De Beers Group works tirelessly to advance industry standards and drive greater confidence in ethically sourced natural diamonds. Our Best Practice Principles programme offers independently verified assurance that exacting standards have been upheld across the diamond's journey around human rights, labour conditions, environmental responsibility and business practices. De Beers Group are also developing pioneering digital sourcing and traceability solutions through Tracr, which enables participants to provide a secure and immutable record of a natural diamond's journey from its source.
